Fonthill, Ont. – July 7th, 2023 – For the first time in B4 Power’s history, two of Niagara’s brightest high school graduates have been given a leg up in their STEM education with post-secondary bursaries. Lauren Corbeil and Lesley Tchong graciously accepted their awards during their graduation ceremonies on June 27th and June 28th, respectively. B4 Power, a Not-For-Profit charitable organization founded by the owners of B4 Networks, Bryan and Amanda Lachapelle, was created to encourage young women to pursue their passion in STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics).

“I am particularly passionate about representing women in STEM and overcoming certain barriers that can prevent young women from pursuing careers in the tech industry,” said recipient Corbeil. “I believe that this bursary would help me to further my education and gain the skills and experience needed to make a meaningful contribution to the field.”

Corbeil will be studying Computer Science at Brock University this fall, while Tchong will be studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Toronto.

“Engineering is a step toward changing the world in several ways,” said Tchong. “My goal for the future is to continue my entrepreneurial path, but now I will be able to include my passion for technology and sciences.”
